Announced during Gamescom 2018, but remained very discreet until the beginning of the year 2022, the return of the real-time construction / strategy The Settlers will not last on March 17.

As announced on the official game of the game, Ubisoft Düsseldorf judged through the recent closed beta that the quality of the game did not meet expectations. The output of the title is thus repulsed until further notice, no new date having been suggested. Presented as a new departure for the franchise, The Settlers revolves around three playable factions (the Elari, the Maru and the Jorn) and relies on the massive Ubisoft SnowDrop engine. In a world of medieval inspiration, the goal of the game is to accumulate resources and enrich your economy to recruit new settlers and lift a victorious army. In addition to a narrative campaign, the game will offer a tutorial, additional challenges and multiplayer modes for skirmishes involving up to 8 players.

Ubisoft Communiqué

“_Gello to all the fans of The Settlers, _

The recent closed beta was an excellent opportunity, for participating players, to share their feedback regarding the current state of the game, and we want to thank you for your involvement.

The study of these comments has highlighted, for our team, the fact that the quality of the game is not complying with the team’s vision yet. As a result, we made the decision to postpone the game’s release at a later date to provide players with the best possible gaming experience.
