Hunt: Showdown Producer Fatih Özbayram talks to time about Crytek’s intense new shooter.

Although hunt: showdown has a long and complicated development cycle behind. The shape that Crytek published at the end of last year after a period of early access is one of the most unique things that we have seen in the shooter genre and the PVP area for years. With its combination of a horror setting, a slow and intense gameplay loop and a uniquely strenuous mechanics hunt: showdown currently offers the type of breathless PVPVE action that is nowhere else to find. However, there is still a wide way for the game, as Crytek plans to further optimize it and add new content. In order to get some details about the future of the game, we have not sent some of our questions to the developers before not too long. You can read our conversation with producer Fatih Özbayram below.

We are very happy about the start jagen from Early Access and are grateful for all the feedback we received during Early Access and beyond.

First of all, congratulations on the start of 1.0. Since the full publication, the game has been very well received by a larger audience. How does it feel like having the game after a lot of hard work finally from the game?

Thanks very much! It feels great, but at the same time we find that there is a lot of work ahead of us. We are very happy about the start jagen out of the Early Access and are grateful for all the feedback we have received during the Early Access and beyond. It is now time to define the future roadmap for jagen and some remaining roadmap elements.

How important was the feedback of the community during the early access phase? How much did it shaped the game as we see it today?

We have received many feedback from the community and are glad to provide some of the most demanded features such as quick play mode, three-teams, a new card, a new boss and much more.

It was criticized what some players hold for a visual downgrade in version 1.0. Do you have an answer to this feedback? Do you work on it?

This may require a slightly longer answer because we have done several things for 1.0.

First, we optimized the lighting (especially the nighttime) to make it brighter, which led to a less moody feeling. This was perceived as a downgrade because the scenes look less intense. Although we knew that this would lead to a certain setback, we still went to a problem that some players would artificially increase the brightness to make an advantage. It was partly a way to remove access to this exploit.

Second, we have lowered the low graphic settings in a patch in which we activated more digital settings for graphics options. The lower settings options should help players with older systems, and the additional settings meant that players could still improve their graphics settings if possible. Unfortunately, we did not communicate this clear enough at this time. This experience has taught us a lot about how we can interact with the community on these topics.

We strive to deliver the highest quality we can offer, and the graphics with the highest settings were never lowered. However, we focus on making the game accessible to as many people with as many different game settings as possible. Possible. ****

Finally, we had some problems with the streaming of assets that led to blurred terrain, characters and bushes, and had a stain on which a part of the vegetation (grass) was accidentally turned off. This was easy to fix, but was also perceived as a graphic downgrade.

We strive to deliver the highest quality we can offer, and graphics with the highest settings were never lowered. Nevertheless, our focus is on making the game accessible to as many people with as many different game settings as possible. ****

I imagine that version 1.0 only the beginning for is hunt: showdown. Do you have plans for more content and updates for some time?

Yes absolutely! There are still many ideas and we plan to update the game as before. The planned larger updates include a solo-PVE mode, live events, crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation and much more.

With next-generation consoles around the corner and hunt: Showdown probably a game you will support for some time. Are PS5 and Xbox Series X ports something that you might have spoken for the time being? At the moment we focus on the current generation. On the 18th Februarthwir will be published for the first time on PS4 for the first time. Before we make more plans, we would like to make sure that we have a stable service, entertaining experience and a strong content pipeline. We are concentrating on it straight and for some time. Cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation will be available shortly as an option. Can we expect to see hunt: showdown CrossSplay in the street? Yes, we are working on it. CrossSplay between Xbox and PlayStation will be available shortly as an option.
